At 1st Keyworth Scouts we have two cub packs. We provide fun and adventure for boys and girls aged 8 to 11 years old. If you are interested in helping out, or would like to add your child to our waiting list, please use our contact form.
A Pack meet on a Friday night from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. Our pack is lead by Bayan Mansour. She is supported by assistant leaders Rebecca Conquest, Peter Watson, James Warfield, Leigh Woodward and several explorers doing their DofE service. Activities include team building games, learning new skills, keeping fit, and a firm favourite of all, cooking and camping. We generally meet in the Scout Hut, though we like to get out and about particularly in the summer months. Often this involves joint activities with B Pack. Our aim is to provide a safe but challenging environment where friendships and achievement can flourish.
B Pack cubs meet on a Thursday between 6.30pm and 8.00pm. The pack is run by Jeff Turnbull , with help from sectional assistants Kara Majerus and Damon Taylor. The team are keen to get the cubs involved in the adventure of scouting through traditional skills such as fire lighting, camp cooking, knotting and map reading. Our meetings are not restricted to the hut and in the summer we make every effort to organise activities outside (weather permitting!); firm favourites include canoeing, pond dipping and wide games at the local Hollygate campsite. In winter too we often venture outside Keyworth, past endeavours have included bouldering and slot car racing.
