The Cubs had a camp cooking evening at the hut.  They made a simple version of spaghetti carbonara.  It didn’t last long once cooked!.  The Cubs said that they would like to make it at home so see the recipe below so they can make it for their families over the half-term!

Creamy Spaghetti (Spaghetti Carbonara)
Makes 4 servings
3 eggs
55g cheese
115g streaky bacon
1½ tablespoons of vegetable oil
2 tablespoons double cream
225g spaghetti
Pinch salt
Freshly ground black pepper

1. Heat some water in a pan, add a pinch of salt and a drop of oil to stop the pasta sticking together

2. When the water boils gently push the pasta into the water until covered (cook for about 12 to 15 minutes)

3. While the pasta cooks, beat the eggs in a bowl

4. Add the cream, salt pepper and half the cheese then beat again

5. Chop the bacon

6. Put the oil in the frying pan, add the chopped bacon and fry it for 5 minutes or so until cooked

7. When the pasta is cooked, tip it into a colander and drain well

8. Tip the pasta back into the saucepan. Add the egg mixture and bacon. Stir well and cook it for a few more minutes, keep stirring

9. Take off the heat then add the rest of the cheese before serving
